by the way the download is only about 3.5 MB and the film about four minutes long

there was some very impressive camera work in that film at pionts. I think the narrative was abit all over the place tho... like it showed him walking over a dog **** , and then it showed him getting ready in the morning... perhaps it would of flowed more naturaly if it was in the order that it would take place on the day, finaly ending with the car. Like have him getting ready in the morning saying the intro, the dog **** , have him at work saying the next bit, then the scene in the work tiolets... it would have more flow like that i think.

BTW, the bit with the girl was very funny. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

I liked it man. Nice sound, good editing. It's a very nice nice short. Well done. I think it's edited very well and works a lot better than it would if it played out in a more linear way.

Got any more details? What you shot on, edited on, budget, what sound gear you used, how long to shoot edit?

It is a cool short, I would say more but I'm not sure how to explain it, other than cool.

I think the camera i used was called a sony PD-15, i was borrowing it from uni so i'm not too sure. Most of the sound was recorded using the external mic that came with it, although some of the background noise was re-recorded using a boom mic.

I edited the film on my home computer using Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects and some of the sound was done in Soundforge.

There was no budget for the film, i only spent about ?1 purchasing the fake dog poo.

The overall production time was about 5-6 months.
about 2 months writing the script and planning the shoot, 3 days shooting and the rest editing.

BLACK SCREEN:
(v.o)
It?s weird how you get feelings about certain days???

FADE IN:

INT. BEDROOM ? MORNING - 7:00AM
BLACK AND WHITE

A teenage boy (DAVID) is lying on his back in bed, staring directly at the camera??

DAVID
You wake up most days and you have to force yourself out of bed?

David slides himself out of bed and walks across the room.

DAVID (V.O)
Occasionally though, you get a day that from the moment you wake up, you just know everything is going to be perfect.

He grabs a dressing gown from the back of his door, and steps into a pair of slippers. The camera focuses on his slippers as he steps out the bedroom, twists on the spot and walks towards the camera.

CUT TO:
EXT. STREET ? MORNING ? 7:30AM
COLOUR

David steps out the driveway, twists on the spot and walks toward the camera.
He struts along with a look of happiness and contentment, gazing at the birds flying overhead in the clear blue sky. He fails to spot the huge dog poo in his path until he steps in it.
His face turns to disgust. The camera tracks round his head in an arc???

MATCH CUT TO:

INT. BATHROOM ? MORNING ? 7:10AM
BLACK AND WHITE

???The camera finishes the arc on the other side of David as he walks into the bathroom. He picks up a toothbrush, pastes it up and starts brushing his teeth, in front of the mirror.
His eyes shift to make eye contact with the camera. He stops brushing and the foam starts to run down his chin as he goes to speak??

DAVID
I like to think I?ve got a pretty good, err.. intuition for these things.

He continues to brush

(CONTD)
(Muffled)
It?s important to trust your gut feelings???

He spits into the sink and turns to look directly at the camera..

(CONTD)
You get plenty of mundane days in your life?

He places the toothbrush back into its holder.

(CONTD)
???You?ve got to take advantage of the special ones.

He turns on the hot tap, undoes the latch on his watch strap and?????

CUT TO:
INT. PUBLIC TOILETS ? DAY ? 11:07AM
COLOUR

????places it on the side of the sink. David is stood in a public toilet, about to wash his hands. He turns on the tap with a fast twist of the wrist. The water comes shooting out of the tap, swirls round the sink and sprays out the edge, all over the crotch of his trousers.

DAVID
Ssshhhitt!!

He grabs a handful of paper towels and desperately tries to mop up the water as it seeps through his pants.
Looking down at the wet patch he realises he?s never going to towel dry it. He angrily throws down the bunch of paper towels and leaves the toilet, his watch still on the sink.

As he leaves he goes to zip up his fly??
CUT TO:

INT. BATHROOM ? MORNING ? 7:15AM
BLACK AND WHITE
??David finishes zipping up his fly and buttons his trousers. He slips a tie round the collar of his white shirt and knots it, pulling it tight to his neck. He gives himself a satisfied look in the mirror.

INT. KITCHEN ? MORNING ? 7:18AM

BLACK AND WHITE
A newspaper is resting on the edge of the kitchen table. David grabs it as he walks past and flicks through, stopping at the horoscopes.
The words move across the screen as he reads them out loud

DAVID
?Cancer.. You?re looking good to someone today.

He pauses briefly to give a knowing look at the camera

(CONTD)
An encounter with a stranger could lead to a passionate liaison???

CUT TO:
INT. STREET ? DAY ? 2:37PM
COLOUR

David is walking through an underpass with his head down. His effervescence from the morning has started to fade away. He takes the last cigarette from its packet and goes to light it. The lighter won?t light. Sparks fly.
Round the corner of the underpass a girl is walking in the opposite direction to David. He is still attempting to light the cigarette, not paying attention to where he is walking.
As they both reach the corner, they slam into each other. David drops his lighter and clumsily goes to pick it up, but stops suddenly. He looks at the girl he has just bumped into. His mouth drops in awe at the girl of his dreams stood before him, while the sound of his heart beating gets slowly louder as the girl goes to speak..

DREAM GIRL
?????? Watch where you?re going you dick!!

The camera dolly zooms towards David?s face and whip pans to..

INT. KITCHEN ? DAY ? 7:19AM
BLACK AND WHITE

DAVID
A ?passionate liaison???.. nice

He pauses to take two pills from bottle, downing them with a glass of water, before continuing to read..

(CONTD)
?Meanwhile other events will also have a huge impact on your life.?

CUT TO:
INT. STREET ? EVENING ? 5:43PM
COLOUR

David is again walking down a street, his head hung even lower, looking completely miserable. He crosses the road, but stops half way, looking down at the ground.
A shiny ?1 coin is lying on the floor, directly in front of him. His eyes perk up slightly and he bends over to pick it up.
Further down the road a car turns the corner far too fast. It speeds towards David.
David looks at the coin in his hand smiling.
From inside the car we see David turn and look towards the driver slowly. He doesn?t realise that the car isn?t going to stop in time as it gets closer and closer???

CUT TO BLACK SCREEN:
The sound of the breaks squealing grows louder. It starts to blend with the sound of a boiling kettle??
CUT TO:

INT. KITCHEN ? MORNING ? 7:20AM
BLACK AND WHITE
??Steam blows out the top of the kettle and toast pops out the toaster.
David fills a cup with five or six teaspoons of coffee. He takes a few gulps of the coffee and grabs the toast. He gets ready to leave the house.

DAVID
(v.o)
yep...

CUT TO:
INT. BEDROOM ? MORNING ? 7:02AM
BLACK AND WHITE
David is lying in his bed. We are back at the start of the morning.

DAVID
Today is going to be special, I?ve got a good feeling about it???

The camera cut to the side of his face. His head turns to the camera. The camera starts to pull back to reveal David lying in the middle of the road, unconscious???
FADE TO BLACK:

I really liked that film. Some awesome camera work and clever editing. And the bit with the girl made me **** myself!
